The first two words of Romans 3:21 are a welcomed transition, “But now…” Reading the previous verses all the way back to chapter 1, Paul has presented the ugliness of sin. “But now,” provides a positive turning point we all need to hear that gives us hope because no one is worthy before God.

What we might dismiss as a rabbit trail might be God trying to highlight something fresh.
In Sunday school yesterday we were in the familiar last chapter of Ephesians reading and talking about the armor of God when a statement directed my thoughts in a different direction. Rick said, “Why does Paul mention prayer after he instructs us to put on the armor?”

Throughout Second Corinthians, Paul communicates that the goal of the believer is to live in the present with eternity in plain sight. With eternity as the goal, a believer is able to endure the present struggles, knowing that trials provide opportunities to grow in one’s relationship with God and share God’s sustaining comfort with others.
